Island Highlights

Staying in Turks and Caicos Islands

A series of forty mostly unspoiled coral islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands are renowned for their sun-soaked days. The gateway island of Providenciales, better known as Provo, is residence to the famed Grace Bay beach – with 12 miles of soft white sand to choose from, you won’t have a problem finding a quiet spot. There are multiple islands to explore so you’re almost guaranteed seclusion and relaxation – but you’re never too far from shops, restaurants, and luxury resorts. Cloudless skies and endless sea views are the main draws of Turks and Caicos. There are many scuba diving sites across the islands – perfect for those looking to explore the depths of the crystal turquoise ocean. On Provo’s northern shore, you will find one of the world’s most impressive barrier reef systems, which spans 14 miles. The days are sun-slowed here – what better way to pass the time than in search of the perfect beach to bask on.

My Story

It was in the year 2000 I first heard about the existence of Turks and Caicos Islands; a chance meeting in Toronto with a couple who recently returned from the islands speaking of its immense natural and cultural beauty. This conversation left a deep imprint upon my imagination and I held onto this fascination and desire to sojourn there for 21 years.

In 2021 the door opened and before Covid had its confining way with us I travelled down to the islands to requite my decades long desire.  What awaited exceeded imagination.

Over two months I made my way throughout the archipelago of Turks and Caicos meeting the people and taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Islands. How had I not known about this place before now?  What was clear, I had fallen in love with its natural wonders and people.  What I didn't anticipate was finding a gem, an original colonial island home - beautiful and well located - but a definite fixer upper came on offer to me during my stay! This certainly was not something I planned, but secretly, I had always harboured a dream of developing a private villa for family, friends and those who desired a luxurious getaway.

After much thought and due diligence, I purchased the island home and all the unknowns that went with it, knowing an adventure was about to begin that would require commitment, patience, superb design and a great contractor! Over the following 2 years, and with an exceptional team of craftsmen and women, Villa St. Joseph came into being. And now, I am so pleased to offer you, your family and friends this oasis for your vacation retreat during the 2023-24 season. I invite you to come with your loved ones to rest and be restored.
